Alpaca Walking Experiences have now restarted for 2025. We do not operate experiences year round, as the weather and ground conditions usually deteriorate late Autumn/ Winter. Plus our lovely alpaca walking team (alpaca & human) get a well earned break!
What happens during our Alpaca Walking Experiences?… they take approximately 2 hours, consisting of a Welcome and brief Health & Safety chat, meeting our walking team, holding the lead rein training, a walk around our paddock to get used to walking your alpaca, then a leisurely stroll around our farm, past our paddocks of pygmy goats, past the Christmas trees, alongside the beautiful river Blackwater, through our copse of willow trees and past one of our lakes until we walk back to our start point. There will be plenty of chances to stop and we will happily take photo’s for you. The walk takes approximately 75 minutes. The farm experience continues… we visit our main breeding goat herd for some feeding activities, then call upon our female alpacas (and cria), our team will give a talk about this group and then it’s off to visit our pygmy goat nannies and get a cuddle with our pygmy goat kids. Our experience is a must for any alpaca or pygmy goat lover, plenty of information will be imparted about all our animals, great photo opportunities and this unique experience definitely tops the cuteness factor! Please note this experience is not suitable for children under 10 years of age. Children aged 10-13 years can attend and walk an alpaca with a double lead rein (accompanying adult must hold other rein). Children aged 14+ can hold lead reins but must be accompanied by an adult.
This experience is not suitable for any ladies who are pregnant. All participants must be fully mobile and have a good level of mobility to keep up with the group. Due to uneven ground levels, this experience is not suitable for wheelchairs / pushchairs (please telephone to discuss other possible options).
Alpaca Walking Experiences take place every Saturday and Sunday morning (the last walk of the year will take place on Saturday 27th September 2025). We also have a morning walk 25th August Bank Holiday Monday 2025.
